My name is Jesse Gregory, but in the music scene I’m known as Main Finger. I’m an electronica musician that loves to dabble in different musical genres. I’ve spent a lot of my time remixing classic and modern video game music. I also compose original works and have contributed to video game soundtracks, collaboration albums, and other music projects.
Video game music has been an influence and passion of mine for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I would take an old tape recorder and record the BGM tests from various games onto tapes so that I could listen to the soundtracks whenever I wanted. A lot of people thought that was pretty odd and some figured I’d grow out of it, but here I am today, still collecting game soundtracks as well as people’s arrangements (both official and fan made) and it’s still what I listen to probably 80% of the time.
When it comes to soundtracks, I typically prefer the styles of Japanese composers. Greats like Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Cross), Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts), and Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) have left a huge impact on me musically. Some of my non-gaming influences include The Crystal Method, Daft Punk, and Pendulum.
